This comparison table lists plants that are heavy producers of the gas ethylene and those that are sensitive to it. Ethylene encourages ripening, some plants continue to emit ethylene and ripen after being harvested, these are the plants in the left hand column. They ripen themselves with the ethylene they emit, and sensitive plants that are kept too close will be affected, see the right hand column.

Bruised/damaged plants give off even more ethylene, eat immediately.
